Additional Rules

1. Courses in both course lists

1.1 Where a course is compulsory in the BInfTech, it must be counted towards the BInfTech component of the dual program, and students should select another course from the BSc course list.

1.2 Where a course is compulsory in both a BInfTech major or minor and a BSc major, extended major or minor, it may be counted towards either-

(a) the BInfTech major or minor, and substituted in the BSc major, extended major or minor by a course at the same level or higher from the BSc course list; or

(b) the BSc major, extended major or minor and substituted in the BInfTech major or minor by a course from the BInfTech Advanced Electives list at the same level or higher.

2. Program Plan - BSc component

(a) Each extended major must include 12 units of courses at level 3 or higher, taken from that extended major’s course list and counted towards no other plan.

(b) Each BSc major must include 8 units of courses at level 3 or higher, taken from that major’s course list and counted towards no other plan.

(c) Each BSc minor must include 4 units of courses at level 2 or higher, taken from that minor’s course list and counted towards no other plan.

(d) Where the program is undertaken with more than one plan, any course listed more than once must be substituted in one plan by a course at the same level or higher from the list for that plan, or from the BSc component of the program requirements.

·        extended major means a prescribed combination of 24 units from the extended major section in the BSc component

·        BSc major means a prescribed combination of 16 units from the major section in the BSc component

·        BSc minor means a prescribed combination of 8 units from the minor section in the BSc component

·        plan means a minor, major or extended major in the BSc component.
