An approved 4-year bachelor degree in psychology (I or IIA honours) or equivalent 4-year APAC-accredited program.Applicants must be eligible for provisional or if applicable, full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.Applicants with non-Australian degrees must have their qualifications assessed by the APS.
Applicants must also submit (via the Online Application):
- an Additional Application Information Form;
- you must have at least two completed referee reports in the Psychology Reference Portal (see additional information for applicants below);
- relevant academic transcripts, and a CV.

Why study the Master of Psychology?
The Master of Psychology provides training, skills and knowledge required to practise competently and confidently within the psychological profession. Learn the scientific bases and practice of psychological practice through a combination of coursework, supervised practice and research. The program offers advanced coursework in a chosen specialisation, an applied psychology research project supervised by highly-trained staff, and specialist and generalist placement opportunities.
What you can study
This program provides students with the opportunity to gain the skills required for full registration as a psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. Appropriately qualified students are trained through a combination of coursework, research, and a series of supervised placements. Students are taught core content, as well as the ability to specialise within one area of psychological practice: either Counselling, Health or Sport & Exercise Psychology.

Additional application requirements
Applicants with non-Australian degrees must have their qualifications assessed by the Australian Psychological Society. Irrespective of professional background, entry to the program will be considered on the basis of previous academic study, experience and personal qualities. In addition, two references will need to be submitted using the Australian Psychology Post-Graduate Program Reference Request System. Shortlisted candidates are required to undertake an interview. <10><10>Offers will be made on the basis of academic achievement, references and interview. There are limited places available for this program. A limited number of places are available for suitably qualified applicants on the basis of equity and students identifying as Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander are encouraged to apply. <10><10>All successful applicants are required to apply for and gain provisional registration or general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, which includes English Language Proficiency requirements. What you can do with a Master of Psychology
Careers
Career opportunities vary according to your specialty. Counselling Psychology Help individuals, families and groups in areas related to personal well-being, interpersonal relationships, work, recreation and health in both acute and chronic life crises. Health Psychology You can work on health promotion campaigns with the government and NGOs, or work with clients in hospital settings or private practice to assist clients who may have chronic pain, chronic disease or require palliative care. Sport and Exercise Psychology You can work in sports academies such as the Australian Institute of Sport as a psychologist for weight management programs, sport development officers or run your own practice with a focus on sport and exercise psychology. Program rules for the Master of Psychology
To complete the Master of Psychology
To graduate with a Master of Psychology a student must have successfully completed all requirements of the program as certified by the Executive Dean. This includes courses to be taken to complete the program and any other specific conditions of the program including admission, enrolment and progression requirements.
