Why study Health?

This field prepares students for research and practice in health psychology through a combination of coursework, supervised practice, and research experience. Health psychologists may work on health promotion campaigns with the government and NGOs, while others work with clients in hospital settings or in private practice. They assist clients who may have chronic pain, chronic disease or require palliative care. The work of health psychologists is constantly expanding as the work of promoting good health and managing illness develops. Graduates are eligible for registration as psychologists in Australia and for associate membership in the College of Health Psychologists.
