Course description
This course will consolidate foundational midwifery practice skills learned in Year 1 and enhance woman centred midwifery care skills with a focus on the care of the woman, family and fetus during labour and birth. The midwife's role in maternity and obstetric complications will be considered and simulated experiences will be utilised to assist students in the development of skills. Students will be assessed for clinical competence and maintain a portfolio of evidence in the acquisition of skill-based competencies.
