Course description
The first half of the course will focus on the theoretical and methodological paradigm underlying ethnographic method. Students will learn about the logic of participant observation, forms of interviewing and other ethnographic approaches to social analysis. During the second part of the course, students will undertake a supervised placement or a volunteer role in a relevant organisation in which to practice ethnographic skills.
