Prerequisites
A three-year bachelor degree in education or a relevant area. Applicants with a four-year bachelor degree or equivalent may apply for the #24 unit MEdSt(Adv) program (three semesters full-time or part-time equivalent).
Additional application information
Students who already hold an appropriate tertiary qualification and are interested in becoming qualified to teach in secondary and middle schools should apply for admission into the Graduate Diploma in Education. Domestic students enrolled in the Master of Educational Studies (Guidance and Counselling) may be eligible to receive income support payments and should contact Centrelink to determine eligibility.

Why study the Master of Educational Studies (Advanced)?
This program provides students with the opportunity to engage in extended coursework or in an extended research-based supervised project, enabling them to strengthen their expertise in educational practice, policy and/or theory. In particular, it provides students with intensive research training in preparation for further research degrees, such as MPhil or PhD, or for a career involving social research.
