Why study the Graduate Diploma in Economics?
The Graduate Diploma allows students to study foundation courses in microeconomics and macroeconomics and extends those fundamentals. The program assumes no prior knowledge or training in economics. Further core courses also introduce students to important concepts for the study of economics such as mathematical techniques and statistics. Graduates of this program will have the option to advance to one of the School's #32 Masters programs thereby attaining further core economics skills and competencies. Obtaining a higher qualification in economics is a career investment. Analytical ability, critical thinking and logic are highly valued commodities, and graduates of this program have the ability to succeed in a dynamic and an increasingly competitive environment.

Careers
Graduates may be employed as economists in government departments, in private sector firms or they may establish their own businesses. Graduates from the Graduate Diploma in Economics may also find teaching positions or positions within the financial industry.

To complete the Graduate Diploma in Economics
To graduate with a Graduate Diploma in Economics a student must have successfully completed all requirements of the program as certified by the Executive Dean. This includes courses to be taken to complete the program and any other specific conditions of the program including admission, enrolment and progression requirements.
