Why study Linguistics?
In the field of Linguistics, students examine key theories and issues about language. The degree is designed for postgraduates with no (or minimal) undergraduate linguistics training, and also provides a formal qualification for practicing field-linguists who wish to improve their theoretical knowledge. The program explores the structure and use of language in depth, with courses in semantics, phonology, phonetics, syntax, morphology, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and language variation and change.
