Course description

This course examines the public character of scientific controversy, how controversies move from scientific forums to other social contexts, and the role of the media and other communication technologies in generating, furthering and resolving scientific controversy. In addition to exploring the theoretical literature on communication in scientific controversy, this course offers advanced skills for communication about scientific controversy and analysing audiences and actors involved in controversy.
