This is a year long course. It commences in Semester 1, 2016 and completes in Semester 2, 2016.
Course description
This course aims to provide information and experiences that will prepare students for a support role in veterinary clinical practice by providing theory and practical skills in the fields of small animal and equine restraint techniques, physical examination, surgical and medical care of the veterinary patient. It will also introduce the student to anaesthesia, radiography, emergency and critical care in the veterinary patient. An animal research component also provides the veterinary technologist with a basic understanding of the operation of a research facility.
