Course description
This course introduces the disciplinary foundations relevant to an understanding of tourism, hospitality and events. The course examines tourism, hospitality and events from the perspective of different disciplines, including economics, politics, geography, sociology, psychology, education and anthropology. The course also highlights the multi-disciplinary and post-disciplinary nature of tourism, hospitality and event research. Examples and cases will be used to illustrate how these disciplinary perspectives inform practice.
