Course description
The purpose of this course is to explore and detail new product and service development (NPSD) as critical business processes that can underpin sustainable growth. With a focus on innovation and design thinking, the course is particularly relevant for students and managers of innovation who are interested in exploring new products and services. Course design is based around four key areas underpinning NPSD as a driver of innovation and business growth. Part 1 establishes the important connection between understanding customers and NPSD. Part 2 explores innovation and design thinking methods to understand customer needs and then designing products and services that meet them. Part 3 explores approaches for building sustainable business models around new products and services. Part 4 explores how to get customers to act. Graduates of the course will develop the knowledge and skills to formulate and implement NPSD as organization-wide processes for growth and renewal.
