Course description
This elective introduces students to the field of disability. The content is structured around four modules covering the experience of disability for individuals and families, current policy and programmatic issues in the disability sector, services and interventions. It adopts a strong focus on lived experiences of disability and reflects to reflect the presence of family and community in the lives of most people with disability. The elective is offered in flexible/distance mode and utilises web based and print material.
Please note that students concurrently enrolled in SWSP3076 and SWSP4088, who are on rural, remote or international placements are exempt from attending the 4 seminars. Please contact the course coordinator to advise of your rural, remote or international placement prior to semester commencing.
