Course description
This course will consolidate and build on the basic skills acquired in SPAN1010 and it will prepare students for further study and experiences in Spanish-speaking communities here and around the world. While speaking and listening will continue to be the primary focus of our activities, there will be an additional focus on reading and writing and development of critical intercultural awareness. SPAN1020 will progress students proficiency towards the 'A2 Waystage' level of linguistic competency described on the internationally recognised Common European Frame of Reference language proficiency scale, against which all of our language courses are benchmarked, and, in so doing, prepare them to undertake Spanish study at Intermediate Level (SPAN2010 and SPAN2020) - Click to self-assess your CEFR level.
