Assessment methods
Examination, assignments and participation.
1. Completion of 200 hours of workplace practicum.
Mid and end of semester placement reports to be completed by onsite supervisors.
Logs of contact and non-contact hours to be completed by student and
sighted by onsite and UQ supervisors. Hurdle 0%
2. Reflective journal completed weekly (minimum 10 posts). 50%
3. Presentation of a case study in oral and written format based on clinical placement. 50%.

Course description
This Practicum course provides the opportunity to develop clinical skills in treatment settings. The emphasis of the fourth placement is developing specialist art therapy treatment skills with an emphasis on dealing with treatment resistance and complex presentations; managing defences, lack of engagement and low motivation for change, decompensation, suicidality, substance abuse and self-harm risks. Art Therapy Field of Study requirements will be met by this course.
