Course description
The dissertation allows students to consolidate and extend the knowledge and skills acquired during the coursework and apply these in a practical way in a public health setting; this can form the basis of a paper publishable in a major public health journal. Full-time students must enrol in PUBH7950. Part-time students must enrol in PUBH7955 if commencing in sem 1 or PUBH7957 if commencing in sem 2. Students must obtain permission from their program coordinator before they can enrol. A minimum GPA of 5.00 is required in previous semesters. Students completing dissertations are unlikely to have their degree conferred until the end of the subsequent semester following submission of their dissertation.
