Course description
PUBH 7120 prepares students for working in the public health field. Skills acquired as students progress through the Master of Public Health program are harnessed to fine-tune cross cutting competencies in the fields of public health ethics, leadership, communication and advocacy. Learning activities and assessment items have been designed to reflect the nature of public health work environment and to provide students with the ability to make a more effective and efficient contribution to it in the future. Students will interview someone working in public health practice, write an article on a public health topic for a general audience, form part of a team that prepares advice for a minister of health on an important public health issue, reflect on the team work, and learn to give constructive feedback.
