Course description
This course focuses on developing understanding of basic therapeutic pharmacological principles, quality use of medications and the nurse role in safe medication practices. There is an emphasis on mechanisms of action, physiological effects, clinical indication, pharmacokinetics and adverse effects of drugs. A key component is the role of the nurse or midwife in safely administering medications.
