Course description
This is a compulsory core course for all the postgraduate coursework in Museum studies. Museums as civic spaces for the conservation, interpretation & management of heritage values in contemporary societies are examined in this course. The social, political & cultural contexts in which national, state/provincial & regional museums have emerged as significant cultural institutions are examined.
