Course description
The nature of the employment relationship and the role of conflict at work. Changing context of employment relations - political, legal and economic. Overview of key parties involved in employment relations: employers, governments, tribunals and unions. Main methods for determining conditions of employment: arbitration, enterprise bargaining, individual contracts and managerial prerogative. Legal regulation: occupational health and safety; workplace discrimination.
