Course description
Introduction to control system design; system modelling principles for electrical & mechanical systems; the Laplace transform; block diagram modelling; open & closed loop control; role of feedback; transient & steady state performance; root locus; frequency response analysis; compensator design, practical issues in the implementation of control systems. In 2019, the course has been redesigned as part of the UQ2U program. This approach is intended to provide students with a signature UQ experience that maximises campus-based `face time¿ with academics and peers, in combination with high-value, flexible online learning.
