Course description
Understanding the research process and developing critical thinking and analytical skills is vital to doctors in the evidence-based and ever-changing practice of medicine. This 16-week course will provide students with practical experience conducting a health-related research, implementation or development project under the supervision of a UQ-affiliated researcher. The course will commence with a brief introductory module on the research process, however, each student's primary contact will be with their project supervisor. Students will be kept on track by authentic assessments designed as project milestones and will have an opportunity to share their work at a research symposium hosted by St Lucia Clinical Unit. Students with little or no prior research experience will benefit most from this course.
