Course description
This is a 16-unit, year-long course with MEDI7100 as a pre-requisite. MEDI7200, Developing Skills in Medicine, provides you with opportunities to further enhance your knowledge, skills, and attributes on your journey towards becoming a doctor. Building on learning from Year 1, this fully integrated course aims to deepen your understanding of the biomedical and clinical sciences essential for modern medical practice. The course also focuses on developing your clinical reasoning skills and cultural capability to enable your development into effective, compassionate, and kind clinicians. A variety of learning experiences will support your development and integrate medical, public health, social and human sciences in the context of pathological processes and clinical practice. There will be an increased focus on learning in small groups and in authentic clinical environments, to develop your skills in relating symptoms and signs to underlying pathophysiological processes and considering the cultural, ethical, and collaborative dimensions of clinical work. During the year, you will further deepen your knowledge and experience by choosing one of a range of learning opportunities in the Personalised Learning Stream.
