Course description
The course is designed in the first place to introduce perturbation theory and continuum mechanics as mathematical modelling tools. These tools are widely used in modelling phenomena in the real world, especially in (fluid) mechanics, mathematical biology and traffic modelling. Applications illustrating the way these tools can be used will be given in a variety of modelling situations.
