Course description

This course describes the nature and history of the equitable jurisdiction and the law of trusts, focusing upon the creation of trusts, both testamentary and inter vivos. It considers the classification of trusts, commercial and other applications of trusts, and the administration of trusts. The powers and duties of trustees and remedies in respect of breaches of trust are examined. The law of fiduciary obligations and remedies in respect of breaches of such obligations are also considered.
