Course description
In this course students will build a solid foundation in modern Japanese. It gives beginning students an overview of what the Japanese language is like, from its linguistic to socio-cultural features. While doing so, the course focuses on the development of basic grammatical knowledge, Japanese scripts (hiragana and katakana) and reading skill. Approximately 150 basic kanji will be introduced.
