Course description
JAPN1011 is a course for students beginning the study of Japanese. Students may take JAPN1011 only, or they may take JAPN1012 in the same semester. This course is designed to introduce students to the Japanese language and develop conversational skills for use in everyday situations. Students learn to read and write in Japanese using two phonetic syllabaries, hiragana and katakana. Cultural aspects are integrated into the course.
