Course description
This course offers students the opportunity to apply skills learnt in the previous 5 semesters of Bachelor of Advanced Humanities (Honours) Program courses to a workplace environment. The internship is not an industry placement but more in the form of a collaborative research team working with, and for, an Industry partner. Students will work in interdisciplinary groups on research projects whose aims, objectives, scope and methods, are agreed upon in consultation with the Industry partner. This industry experience assists students in understanding how to run future group research projects should they go on to academic life, but also how to apply their skills as professional collaborative humanities researchers to a broad sector of the global workplace. All internships will be overseen by both a UQ academic supervisor and an Industry Internship supervisor. It is expected that the outcomes of the Internships will have practical use for Industry and specifically address problems and issues where further research and analysis assists in developing Industry¿s core business.
