Course description

This course provides an introduction to fundamental concepts of the humanities and social sciences that underlie studies and professions as diverse as anthropology, archaeology, criminology, sociology, art history, drama, literature, music, cultural and media studies, classics, philosophy, history, world religions, international relations, political science, communication, journalism and writing. The course examines how these studies advance analytic and original thinking and knowledge about the human and social condition, past and present. Students will develop skills in critical and creative thinking, research and evaluation, argument mapping, problem solving and oral and written communication
