Course description

Students taking this course will engage critically and practically (e.g. website development, blogging, digital assessment construction) with the potential of digital technology to enhance curricular, pedagogical and assessment processes in HPE. These opportunities to inquire, create and communicate with ICTs in HPE and sport will be contextualised within young people¿s increasingly digital lives and relevant policy, curricula and literature. As well as practicing using technologies for movement analysis and performance enhancement, students will participate in debates which highlight, for example, the social and cultural meanings attached to monitoring and measuring health via digital devices and the risks associated with the use of technology in HPE. Finally, students will be facilitated in identifying and constructing professional development networks to improve their digital literacy and pedagogies, and sustain their learning in this area beyond their initial teacher education experiences.
