Course description
This course introduces how to develop and maintain effective and inclusive learning environments in higher education programs. The course draws on contemporary theories of higher education pedagogy, taking an evidence-informed reflective approach to improving practice. Participants attend common workshops and engage in learning activities particular to their elective choice in other weeks. A detailed schedule for each elective stream will be made available on Blackboard.
Participants must have current teaching or course design responsibility. Current teaching or course design responsibility is defined as broader than course coordination. It is teaching practice that broadly includes any role supporting learning or curriculum development across formal, informal, and professional settings. This can range from lecturing, lab demonstrating, PhD supervision, and tutoring, to designing workshops, online modules, extracurricular programs, or learning resources like video materials or assessment guidance. It also includes mentoring, supervising placements, developing digital tools, and contributing to student engagement or professional learning, i.e. any activity that facilitates learning or enhances educational experiences.
