Course description
Building upon your understanding of how students learn, this course aims to focus on your teaching practice in your context. This course aims to develop your knowledge, comprehension and application of skills in curriculum and assessment design and selection of pedagogies most appropriate to your discipline area. Drawing on knowledge from self-directed learning, you will apply theory to practice in the workshops in the context of UQ policies, educational technologies, and educational priorities. You will work collaboratively to identify potential areas in your course curriculum, assessment and pedagogy and your teaching practice that you might enhance. You will examine, reflect on and justify the use of curriculum design principles in relation to your own practice and that of others. The course offers an opportunity to select areas of practice that are most appropriate for your context or personal development.
Successful completion of Curriculum Design at UQ (EDHE6002) and Teaching in Practice (EDHE6003) leads to conferral of HEA Fellowship.
