Course description
This course introduces students to the concepts of dietary intake assessment, inteviewing and counselling of individual clients in the clinical context as well as principles of nutrition education for groups and underpins all of the professional practice courses that are undertaken. Students will develop a ready reckoner for use in practice, as well as become familiar with other tools. Strategies to encourage behaviour change as part of the counselling process will be covered. This course is supported by DIET7102 where students will be able to practice the knowledge and skills covered.
