Course description
This course will provide students with the core ideas which are important for analysing and interpreting massive data sets. These include modelling techniques: Linear models, smoothing regularisation and LASSO methods for big datasets and logistic regression. Students will also be introduced to a range of data science specific tools such as time-series models, spatial models, graphical models, process simulation and image processing techniques. Data based decision making methods and algorithms.
