Course description
The course examines crime prevention policy and practice. Topics include crime prevention through environmental design, situational crime prevention, social prevention, developmental crime prevention, national and international crime prevention policy. The application of crime prevention theory to the problems of terrorism, cyber crime and wildlife crime will be examined. Students will learn how to implement and evaluate crime prevention programs. Students will be introduced to crime prevention problem solving and data sources relevant to the planning and delivery of crime prevention programs.
