Course description
This course is designed to develop students' practical skills in translation from English into Chinese & vice versa, utilising theoretical concepts & contrastive linguistic analysis. The course ensures that the link between the theoretical concepts & practice is maintained & incorporated into teaching. The course exposes students to the requirements of different types of text production & to translation practice in various areas including society, business & trade, law, science & technology, politics & international relations. It provides students with opportunities to participate in group work & to learn & utilise computer-based skills & the Internet.
