Course description
This is the capstone course for plant science at UQ where we will build on the fundamentals covered in other plant science courses. Plants produce the air we breathe, the food we eat, and are central to life on earth. We need a doubling of the world¿s food supply by 2050; however, global warming, a reduced supply of arable land and diminishing quantities of non-renewable fertilisers are major causes for concern. Plants represent a key part of the solution to improving agricultural sustainability and enhancing food security. In this course we seek to equip you with cutting-edge knowledge at the frontiers of plant science research, together with the skills and abilities needed for a career in plant science.
