Course description
A comprehensive understanding of applied animal reproductive biology covering topics such as embryology, puberty, factors affecting oestrous cycle activity, oestrus detection, oestrus synchronization, embryo transfer, IVP, semen collection and evaluation, artificial insemination, pregnancy diagnosis, reproductive pathology, gamete and embryo cryopreservation, contraceptive technology and selected reproductive biology of aquacultural species, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals (feline, canine, equine, rodent). Practical training in skills associated with setting up a small ruminant artificial breeding program and cattle rectal palpation.
