Course description
This course focuses on dogs, cats and exotic animal species, the human-animal bond, and the role of pets in society. Students learn about the biology, behaviour and management of cattle, dogs, cats, companion birds, rodent pets, reptiles, and other exotic species. The course also explores topical issues about these species. Students will gain the required skills to enable them to competently handle and restrain common domestic and exotic animal species in this course and in ANIM1014 (Sem 1). After completing this training students will have the essential knowledge, understanding and skills required for them to successfully complete their preclinical extramural studies placements.
