Course description
Agroecology is defined as the study of the interrelationships of plants, animals, soils and water within an economic, social and global framework. This holistic view of plant and animal biology which integrates scientific disciplines, permits the use of an ecological approach to examine ways of improving the sustainability and the biodiversity of agricultural systems. The complex social and ecological shifts that may need to occur will be discussed.
