A student may hold qualifications from another tertiary institution for not less than seven years which is considered equivalent to the Bachelor of Dental Science (BDSc) with honours and has carried out a substantial part of work associated with the proposed candidature at or in connection with this University.

Why study the Doctor of Dental Science?
As the highest academic award in dentistry, the Doctor of Dental Science (DDSc) is designed to give formal public recognition to scholars who have made outstanding contributions to dental science.
The DDSc award recognises a contribution to Dental Science acknowledged by the international community through publication, following an extended period of self-directed study and research in an area of Dental Science. A candidate is required to submit published works which will be examined for evidence of scholarship and achievement in the advancement of knowledge in an area of Dental Science.

Program requirements for the Doctor of Dental Science
The eligibility for the degree is assessed on the basis of the published scholarly writings, which in quality and magnitude are expected to surpass the level required for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy. Refer to the DDSc rules for further information.
