Prerequisites
- a bachelor¿s degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, and
- be in current employment at UQ with teaching responsibilities (full-time, part-time or sessional) for the full duration of the program (2 years), and
- signed support from head of school or supervisor.
- The Director of ITaLI may limit places depending on availability.
- Once eligibility is established, entry is via a competitive selection process based on Curriculum Vitae (CV) and recent teaching practice.
International students who wish to undertake this program will not qualify for a Student Visa. To study this program in Australia, international students must hold alternative Australian Visa/Residency status with a sufficient study entitlement. See Department of Home Affairs for further details. Alternatively, for programs available in 'External' mode, students may study from their home country.

If you currently teach at UQ and want to enhance your employment opportunities globally, then the Graduate Certificate in University Teaching Practice is for you. Eligible staff will gain advanced teaching and learning skills, and graduate with internationally recognised teaching credentials for university educators and accreditation as an HEA Associate Fellow and HEA Fellow. Completing the program can also lead to publication in academic journals and support future teaching awards and grant applications. It will also support you in demonstrating the capabilities outlined in UQ's APD process.

Program rules for the Graduate Certificate in University Teaching Practice
To complete the Graduate Certificate in University Teaching Practice
To graduate with a Graduate Certificate in University Teaching Practice a student must have successfully completed all requirements of the program as certified by the Executive Dean. This includes courses to be taken to complete the program and any other specific conditions of the program including admission, enrolment and progression requirements.
