An approved masters or higher degree in psychology or equivalent and hold current registration as a general psychologist with an area of practice endorsement.
Additional application information
Applicants must submit a statement outlining which area they wish to train in and why, CV, academic transcript(s), and nominate two referees*. Applicants are required to undertake an interview. Offers will be made on the basis of academic achievement, referee reports and interview. There are limited places available for this program.
*Referees should include someone who can provide comment on your current practice, e.g. a supervisor and colleague. Referees cannot be provided by a near relative or close associate. Examples of near relatives are partner, child, sibling and parents. Examples of close associates are close friends, neighbours and children of colleagues.
All applicants are required to have full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and if successful in gaining a place in the program, psychologist registration must be maintained for the duration of the program.
For applicants who need to provide evidence of English proficiency, please note that this program requires a higher level of English language proficiency than the UQ minimum.
Note: The Clinical Neuropsychology field of study is only available to commence in Semester 1.

If you have an approved psychology postgraduate degree and current registration with endorsement in a specialist area of psychological practice and want to undertake studies in another area of specialisation, the Graduate Diploma in Psychological Practice is for you.

This program provides you with the opportunity to select from six fields to undertake postgraduate coursework and placements within this specialist area to meet academic requirements for seeking endorsement in a second area of psychological practice with the Psychology Board of Australia.

To fulfil the requirements of the Graduate Diploma in Psychological Practice, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
