Prerequisites
Degree equivalent to a four-year Australian bachelor honours degree in a relevant field with a GPA of at least 5.0 on a 7 point scale. Relevant industrial experience may be considered. Relevant fields include but are not limited to Chemical engineering, Civil engineering, Mining engineering, Petroleum engineering, Geology, Earth sciences, Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry. View additional entry requirements for applicants with overseas qualifications.

The Master of Petroleum Engineering program covers the technical disciplines associated with the development of conventional and unconventional oil and gas resources. This program is taught by world-class industry experts, including guest lectures from current industry representatives and mentoring opportunities with senior technical managers. The program includes a world first field development capstone project to design a plan for development of an unconventional gas resource, opportunities for research projects on real industry problems, and hands on learning experiences with advanced software tools. Classes are taught in intensive teaching blocks that allow students to combine study with employment, and there are opportunities for industry placements.
