Prerequisites
To enrol a person must hold -
- an approved Bachelor degree containing at least four courses in any three of the following areas: microeconomics, macroeconomics, statistics and mathematics with a GPA of 5.5; or
- an approved degree or equivalent in the discipline of mathematics or statistics with a GPA of 5.5 and have completed at least three years full-time (or equivalent) professional work experience in the field of economics, approved by the executive dean; or
- the graduate certificate in economic studies from this university with a GPA of 5.5.

Why study the Master of Applied Econometrics?
The Master of Applied Econometrics is designed to strengthen and extend knowledge in the area of econometrics of students with an introductory level of economics knowledge gained from undergraduate study. Students or working professionals seeking to strengthen their quantitative skills and to specialise in econometrics will develop a high level of proficiency in econometrics.

Program rules for the Master of Applied Econometrics
To complete the Master of Applied Econometrics
To fulfil the requirements of the Master of Applied Econometrics, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
To complete the program, a student must complete 32 units from the MAppEmet course list comprising -
- (a) 16 units from part A of the list; and
- (b) at least 8 units from part B of the list; and
- (c) no more than 8 units from part C of the list
If exemptions apply for Part A courses, students are to undertake electives from Part B or Part C. With Head of School approval, a student may include 2 units for any level 3 ECON or level 7 course towards part B or C. Refer to the MAppEmet rules for further information.
