Why study the Master of Conservation Science?
The Master of Conservation Science is an ideal program if you are seeking expanded career prospects with government, conservation and resource management agencies or a research career in the integrative disciplines of conservation, ecology and biodiversity. You will complete the requirements for the 24 unit Master of Conservation Biology and then undertake an additional 8 units of either coursework or a research project that could lead you to a PhD. It is an ideal program for graduates and professionals seeking to expand their careers prospects into a wide range of government, conservation and resource management agencies.
What you can study
The Master of Conservation Science is a 32 unit program that will cover the integrative disciplines of conservation, ecology and biodiversity. Students will complete the requirements for the 24 unit Master of Conservation Biology and then undertake an additional 8 units of either coursework or a research project that is an entry pathway to the PhD program. Students in the Master of Conservation Science complete the equivalent of two academic years of study in just 18 calendar months. A standard enrolment for a full-time student is to complete a 2 unit course, CONS7029 Conservation in Context, just prior to the commencement of semester 2, enrol in 8 units during semester 2, 6 units in the summer semester, 8 units in semester 1, and 8 units in the final semester. To complete the Master of Conservation Science
To graduate with a Master of Conservation Science a student must have successfully completed all requirements of the program as certified by the Executive Dean. This includes courses to be taken to complete the program and any other specific conditions of the program including admission, enrolment and progression requirements.
