Why study the Master of Agricultural Science?
This is a new program commencing from 2014 and will replace the existing Master of Agricultural Studies. For students currently enrolled in the Master of Agricultural Studies please refer to the following link Master of Agricultural Studies for information on your program requirements including the rules and courses to be completed.
The Master of Agricultural Science covers the integrative disciplines within the animal, plant, soil, food and social sciences continuum in 2 years. Select from one of four specialised fields of study to gain comprehensive theoretical and practical knowledge. Fields available are: Agronomy; Animal Production; Horticulture; Plant Protection and Undeclared. Learn to apply your leadership, research and problem solving skills to meet the global challenges associated with feeding the world, and maintaining our environment in situations of increasing community expectations of animal welfare, biosecurity concerns, and competition for limited resources. It is an ideal program for graduates and professionals seeking to expand their career prospects into a wide range of government, commercial, community based or research roles in the broad field of agriculture and environment.

Program rules for the Master of Agricultural Science
To complete the Master of Agricultural Science
To fulfil the requirements of the Master of Agricultural Science, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
Students will complete #32 units in total, comprising:
- #6 from part A;
- #8 from part B;
- #8 from part C; and the balance from parts C and D.
