Why study the Master of Conservation Biology (Advanced)?
The Master of Conservation Biology (Advanced) is an ideal program if you are seeking expanded career prospects with government, conservation and resource management agencies or a research career in the integrative disciplines of conservation, ecology and biodiversity.
You will complete the requirements for the 24 unit Master of Conservation Biology and then undertake an additional 8 units of either coursework or a research project that could lead you to a PhD.
It is an ideal program for graduates and professionals seeking to expand their careers prospects into a wide range of government, conservation and resource management agencies.
This is a quota-based program and meeting the minimum entry requirements does not guarantee entry into the program.
This program is 1.5 years full time - it is the equivalent of 2 years (4 semesters) full time, offered intensively over 18 calendar months by using a summer semester.

The Master of Conservation Biology (Advanced) is a #32 program that will cover the integrative disciplines of conservation, ecology and biodiversity. Program rules for the Master of Conservation Biology (Advanced)
To complete the Master of Conservation Biology (Advanced)
To fulfil the requirements of the Master of Conservation Biology (Advanced), a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
Students will complete either #8 of further coursework courses or a research project.
Program structure:
- #24 for Part A of the course list (completed in teaching period 4, semester 2, summer semester and semester 1 the following year), and
- #8 for Part B - Research option; or
- #8 from Part C - Coursework option.
