Why study the Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Echocardiography?

This program is designed to provide training in the theoretical and practical aspects of echocardiography. On completion students will be able to perform and interpret a comprehensive echocardiogram recognising commonly encountered pathology of the myocardium, valves, pericardium and great vessels. In addition students will develop an enhanced understanding of the echocardiographic evaluation of the critically ill. Topics covered include the assessment of volume status and fluid responsiveness, haemodynamic monitoring and evaluation of patients with hypotension, hypoxaemia, sepsis and trauma.

To fulfil the requirements of the Graduate Certificate in Critical Care Echocardiography, a student must complete the requisite number of courses chosen from the course list in accordance with the Program Rules.
