Prerequisites
Honours I or IIA degree in psychology or equivalent 4-year APAC-accredited program from a recognised tertiary institution.
Students with non-Australian degrees must have their qualifications assessed by the APS.

Domestic students in the MAppPsych may be eligible for income support and should contact Centrelink.
Applicants must nominate three referees and include the Psychology Additional Information form with their on-line application. Shortlisted candidates are required to undertake an interview.
There is a quota of 25 students in the program. Offers will be made to applicants on the basis of highest academic rank, referees reports and interview. A limited number of places are available for suitably qualified people on the basis of equity and students identifying as Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander are encouraged to apply.
All successful applicants are required to apply for and gain provisional registration or if applicable, full registration, with the The Psychology Board of Australia, which includes the Board's English Language Proficiency requirements. Students must have registration prior to commencing their study and this must be maintained for the duration of the program.

Why study the Master of Applied Psychology?
This program provides an umbrella framework including a core and a series of fields, each of which will meet requirements for membership of one specialist College of the Australian Psychological Society. The Master of Applied Psychology provides training, including core professional skills and a specialist field in Health Psychology, Counselling Psychology, or Sport & Exercise Psychology to meet Australian Psychological Society accreditation. Completion of this program will equip students to work as registered psychologists in their chosen professional field.
